I haven’t always had a healthy relationship with food. For many years I was unwell, suffered from chronic fatigue and struggled with body image issues. I also battled numerous health issues, so I personally understand the fear, isolation and confusion when it feels as though your world is spiralling out of control. The most important thing to do is reach out for help. You are not alone.
I sought help, and what followed was a long journey of recovery and self-discovery… and one that lead me to explore the amazing, healing and therapeutic world of natural health and the principle of ‘food as medicine’.
Our very growth, health and survival are dependent on nutrients (proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals) that we gain from food!! I soon learnt that specific nutrients are vital for supporting energy production, hormone balance, neurotransmitter pathways and immune system function. Good nutrition and lifestyle changes can help us to better manage and cope with life’s challenges. In my personal experience, I’ve found that integrating both mainstream medicine and complimentary natural medicine is gaining the best of both worlds.
After years of evidence-based research and study, combined with my own personal life experiences and ten years working within the disability employment services industry (specializing in mental health), I feel empowered that I can now help and support others to take control of their health and start their own wellness journey.
